Horsehoe Bend Posters and Art Prints

We were on the road to Capitol Reef National Park, travelling north along UT-95, following an almost dried-up river whose course was defined by a long series of oxbow formations or U-bends, While not on the scale of the Horseshoe Bend near Page, Arizona, this horseshoe bend otherwise had all of the characteristics of that big brother.

Another take on Horseshoe Bend. It is a horseshoe-shaped meander of the Colorado River located near the town of Page, Arizona; located about 5 miles downstream from the Glen Canyon Dam and Lake Powell within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Horseshoe Bend - Arizona by Debra Martz Located about 5 miles south of Page, AZ one can hike to view this iconic meander of the Colorado River. The overlook is 4,200 feet above sea level, and the Colorado River is 3,200 feet above sea level, which gives this scenic view a breathtaking 1,000 foot drop. The hike is about 1.5 mile round-trip; The trail is steep in some areas, and has some areas of deep sand, so be prepared for a challenge despite the short distance.
