The Sun passing overhead Giving life it's energy completes yet another day. As fine a representation of the passing of time as it gets. The seasons come and the seasons go as the crops move through their stages and yield their bounty for life to survive and to grow. Yet another day in the cycle of generations passing through time. Shot came from Crab Orchard nature preserve west of Marion, Illinois.

This is a roadway not to far from Pomona, Illinois. What a wonderful road-trip it was.

Barns are not built in the same way as years past - perhaps the new barns are stronger and yes more efficient - but most certainly they lack the character that the ol' ones have earned.

This old one still lives somewhere in southern Illinois. The ol' barns are certainly disappearing - such hub of activities they were.

One element of photography that I enjoy a lot is being able to bring home these "Small Gems" that I find along my travels. They allow me to enjoy the moment far beyond what I'm able to physically stay at any given spot. There has been so many times that I have to just keep going on by and even miss them altogether.
