Kay Bee Toys 1973

K·B Toys (also known as Kay Bee Toys) was an American chain of mall-based retail toy stores. The company was founded in 1922 as Kaufman Brothers, a wholesale candy store. The company opened a wholesale toy store in 1946 and ended its candy wholesales two years later to focus entirely on the toy industry. Retail sales began in 1973 under the name Kay-Bee Toy & Hobby. By 1999, the company operated 1,324 stores across the United States and was the second-largest toy retailer in the U.S., but later declared bankruptcy in both 2004 and 2008 before going out of business in 2009. This design is based on their longest-running and therefore best-known logo design which was in use throughout the '80s and '90s.

Kenner Products was an American toy company founded in 1946. Throughout its history the Kenner brand produced several highly recognizable toys and merchandise lines, including action figures like the original series of Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Batman, as well as die cast models. The company was closed by its corporate parent Hasbro in 2000.

Herself the Elf was an early '80s line of mother nature themed dolls that included not only Herself the Elf, but also Snowdrop, Meadow Morn, Willow Song, and Wood Pink. They all had their own magical powers and magic wands with which to use their powers, which were unique to each respective elf. In addition to the dolls and their three playsets (a house, a shower, and a vanity), a number of books, records, and even a cartoon was developed. The backstory was as follows: "Herself the Elf lives in a magical land tucked in a forest where tall trees stand. It's where birds and bees live happy as can be, with all kinds of animals great and small... 'cause Herself the Elf takes care of them all."

Battle Beasts are 2″ tall anthropomorphic animal action figures that originated in Japan in 1986 as 'Beastformers,' as an attempted spin-off of popular transforming robots at the time. When the line came to America, they were called Battle Beasts, to better reflect the 'rock, paper, scissors' game that could be played with them. These nicely detailed action figures were based on animals and equipped with body armor and a weapon. In addition, their chest armor included a heat sensitive sticker that would reveal one of three elements – fire, wood, or water. Later, an invincible symbol known as the Sunburst as be released, and became a true chase item, as having a Sunburst warrior amongst your Battle Beasts, you would never lose!

The first colorful version of the Hasbro logo was created in 1978. A tender blue square with rounded angles and white outline depicted a silhouette of a house with two kids figures inside. The “Hasbro” lettering was placed under the house and executed in a bold sans-serif with the use of a darker shade of blue.

The Motocross Super Van was released in 1975 and is probably one of the coolest diecast vans Hot Wheels ever released. There were a few variations on the livery, including one that was branded for a Japanese motorcycle maker, but the colors and basic look were pretty consistent.
