Adelaide Hills region is located in the southern Mount Lofty Ranges east of the city of Adelaide in the state of South Australia. The Adelaide Hills region is one of the cooler wine regions of mainland Australia as, despite warm days in January and February when the grapes are ripening, the region generally experiences cool nights. Australian native orchids are particularly special, they are very dainty.. Unlike many South Australian native orchids which produce one flower, this one produces a tall flowering stem with up to fifty pale pink flowers (Dipodium roseum) Flowers in summer I'm delighted to find a copse of them here on this 80 acre property.
