The more I look at woods, forest, meadows and all things natural under the light of the sky, the more I come to realize daylight seems to become scattered and torn apart and show all kinds of hues, no matter what hue a substance holds initially. Beek-Ubbergen Just outside Nijmegen towards the German border there are two places of beauty called the Ooij Polder and the start of the ‘Nijmeegse Heuvelrug’, part of the Lower Rhine Heights. For people living outside The Netherlands it must be a sorry sight but at least there are hills and I know them very well for whole my life. My paintings The Ooij Polder (2013) and The Elysian Fields (2013) are situated in them. Exact spot The drawing was not made at the spot but today.
