Once a species is gone, it's gone. The Carolina Parakeet once darkened the skies of the east coast of the US, but it was driven to extinction by hunting because it was considered a nuisance to crops. Remember this gorgeous little parrot with a depressing t-shirt.

The only parrot native to the eastern US, the Carolina parakeet was declared extinct in 1939
