The Continental Divide Trail (CDT) is the longest and least-traveled of America’s trio of long-distance trails. It connects Mexico to Canada via a 3,100 mile / 4,898 km footpath following the Continental Divide across the United States. Thru-hikers, those hiking the entire trail, pass through five states: New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.

The Colorado Continental Divide On Loveland Pass is an art print I created using a sketching and watercolor technique. This technique uses precise sketched lines and subtle colors creating a sharper look. The setting is the mountain range that makes up the continental divide on Loveland Pass, Colorado. The scene depicts the mountains above the Eisenhower Tunnel which connects Denver on the east to the Lake Dillon area on the western side of the tunnel. The highway that takes you up over Loveland Pass was the only way across the continental divide prior to the tunnel being built. The pass rises to an elevation of 11,991 feet which takes you above tree line.

Öxarárfoss flowing over the edge of the American tectonic plate in Iceland's Thingvellir National Park. This national park was so incredibly impressive, and the waterfall even more so. It's no wonder that the Icelandic people used this place for the backdrop of some of their most important historical events, including the establishment of the Icelandic Parliament in year 930.

Colorado Continental Divide is a color photographic art print of the continental divide west of Denver. Heading west from Denver, you go under the Continental Divide using the Eisenhower Tunnel and drop down into a valley surrounded by mountains. This particular capture was taken in mid July with all of the mountains still showing snow above tree line. The setting is Loveland Pass with the road in the foreground as it winds down towards the eastern portal of the Eisenhower Tunnel. You’ll note the storm clouds that have built to the north of the divide, which is normal for summer months in this part of Colorado. My usage of Zero Day comes from hiking the Appalachian Trail -- a full day off with no hiking. A day to resupply, rest those doggies, enjoy trail town food and beers, and maybe go rafting or kayaking. Or better yet -- sleep! But maybe you're working from home. You need a zero day. Wear the shirt to remind yourself that this is a zero day, so take it easy.
