Dating back 2000 years or more, the historic quayside by the River Exe in the city of Exeter (Devon, England) has seen many changes over the centuries. Exeter's wealth came from the woollen trade which peaked in the mid 18th century. Cloth woven in the area was loaded onto ships on the quay and transported all over the world. Nowadays the quay offers relative peace and quiet, just 5 minutes walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. Date: 8th December 2012.

Custom House, Exeter Quay Number of views as of 18th February 2017 = 460. Designed by North Devon builder, Richard Allen, the city of Exeter's custom house is one of the oldest such buildings in England, dating from 1680. It is also believed to be the oldest brick building in the city. Here on the quayside, imported goods would be assessed and duties paid before the goods were transported into the city. Home to around 120,000 inhabitants, the city of Exeter is approx 70 miles south-west of Bristol and 37 miles north-east of Plymouth. Date: 8th December 2012.
