Last year I visited Gosford Gallery and the Japanese Garden behind the Gallery has pools with Koi ! The Koi are aware they might get scraps from the humans.

A closer version of the Hoop Pine fruit showing the cool pattern on the outside of the fruit. Found on a forest floor near Gosford on the Central Coast of NSW, Australia. Canon 5D MkIII. Scientific name Araucaria cunninghamii. Other less commonly used names include colonial pine and Queensland pine. The scientific name honours the botanist and explorer Allan Cunningham, who collected the first specimens in the 1820s. There are wooden steps that lead to the main waterfall but to get to this spot the track is less defined with the occasional stone steps. After a couple of weeks of rain this waterfall was flowing well. Just my third trip to Somersby Falls & the first time to the upper reaches of the top falls. Photographed with Canon 400D, ISO 100, F22, 2 seconds, RAW Mode. To get to this place you have to bend way down as you pass through the low rock ceiling behind the falls. Both times I needed to plant a hand in the mud to stop myself falling & picked up some mud that was almost as orange as my shirt & more orange than my hair ! I love the contrast of dark rock & artistically splashing white water. There is a track leading to the main falls but getting to this one requires a bit of rock hopping & slow & steady stepping over slippery sections. The wider view of the second waterfall we photographed at Girrakool with a supporting waterfall on the other side. A track from the picnic area leads to a view from above before you have to go off the track to get to this spot. Thanks again to Wazza for the tour guide & to Waz & David for the company.
