As Greek mythology tells us, Persephone was picking flowers during the season of spring when a chasm in the ground beneath her opened up. Hades emerges from the smoke below with plans to kidnap the naive maiden goddess. A parrot attempts to warn her of the dangers ahead, but it is to no avail to the oblivious woman.
