Only 3/7 main types of plastic is recyclable. Recycling was partly a sham created by the plastic industry to make us think we can actually reduce pollution simply by throwing plastic products in the right rubbish bin. But now we know, most single-use plastic won't be recycled and usually end up in landfills and could stay there not degraded for hundreds of years.
