I love to look at rainbows with childlike pleasure. Similarly with shafts of light that stream through intricate stained-glass or a busy artists palette. It lifts the soul. After the gloom, comes light. After the storm, comes brightness again. Also in life.

Though the words “stained glass art” may trigger thoughts of medieval cathedral windows, today’s contemporary artists are proving that the thousand-year-old craft is anything but outdated. As we are taught at school ...EACH rainbow has 7 visible colours: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. BUT is that true? Well NO... Issac Newton did a great deal of pioneering work on light and summarised the effect of white light being split into colours at the familier red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet, But this is only a SUMMARY. There are millions of colours that our eyes can detect, more colours than we can put a name to, and so the rainbow "7" are bands of similar colours.

Back in the late '50s, hot rodders were increasingly attracted to newer cars making their way into junkyards, or more specifically, the OHV V8 engines they brought with them. An engine that made more power than their flathead V8's, was all too enticing, though the swap wasn't exactly straight forward. Of course, hot rodders were an ingenious bunch, and came up with all kinds of mounting solutions, but none of them were exactly great (or safe). Seeing a need, Hurst came out with their Adjusta-Torque engine conversion mount in 1960, promising a true bolt on solution for OHV engine swaps.
