The term “rats with wings” became popular in the 1980s as a derogatory term referring to common city pigeons, Columba livia domestica. These feral birds were domesticated thousands of years ago and brought to almost every continent by humans, who now look upon the pigeons they created with contempt.
But their fearsome ancestors towered above our scurrying forebears in the jungles of the Jurassic, and the blood of dinosaurs still runs in their veins. Honor this ancient and noble line with a tee that reminds the mammals that they’re the rats. --

Rescued Roller pigeon Caboodle was with us only a short time but he touched all of our hearts with his sweet feistiness and his angry eyebrow. Caboodle lost his fight on 10/12/16 but he lives on, inspiring us with his love for life. Thank you to artist Sarah Meyer for celebrating our beloved Caboodle with this shirt design.
