If you ever visit Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), you should visit the central post office. The building is a remnant of the French colonial days; a remarkable piece of architecture constructed in the late 1800s. This is an image that captures some of the detail of the wall and high curved ceiling in the main hall in the building. The hall speaks eloquently of its European heritage, but at the far end is a giant portrait of Ho Chi Minh to remind you where you are. What I love about this image is architectural grace it has captured and the wonderful colours. That colour scheme is continued on the outside of the building.

A vintage photo of the inside of Cathedral of Brasília by Jerry Frank some time between the 1950s and 1980s. He was an award-winning photographer.

The Roman Baths complex is a site of historical interest in the English city of Bath (Somerset). The house is a well-preserved Roman site for public bathing. The visitor entrance is via an 1897 concert hall by J M Brydon. It is an eastward continuation of the Grand Pump Room with a glass-domed centre and single-storey radiused corner.

The Swiss town of Winterthur near Zurich boasts a very modern theatre which is not loved by all the locals. It is Switzerland's largest playhouse and was built in 1979.

The beautiful contrast between the cloths locally weaved from sheep wool and dyed using materials and recipes that have been passed down through generations ... and the vivid blue painted walls. It SHOUTS North Africa. Be it Casablanca, Rabat or Marrakesh.... on holiday or a gap-year; there is so much to enjoy. A feast for the nose, eyes and heart.
