Santa Eulalia del Rio (of the River) is named after the river that flowed down next to the town. This river is the only one in the Balearic islands, and played a very important role as it was used to run the water mills that ground the flour and was essential for commercialization of many crops. Nowadays, the river is almost completely dried up and runs only half a kilometre, but the walk along the remaining section is beautiful. At this point, it is possible to cross over using the man made stepping stones. BEST VIEWED LARGER
