Most titles for my abstract digital artwork are inspired by the feelings they evoke when the image is finished to my satisfaction. Many of my abstract works are first created as doodles on a tablet, and then they are transformed using editing software on a desktop computer. These pieces are organic, and they are never fully imagined when I begin.

Returning Home is another one of my original digitally designed abstract pieces that began with a drawing of shapes and lines, then distorted using photo editing software. The titles of these pieces come to me when the image is finished and I react to it. I saw aliens, earth, and space travel in this piece.

My Elemental series of paintings are influenced by the work of Piet Mondrian who broke art down to the two simplest features, line and the three primary colours. Whilst I admire Mondrian's bold approach and his unique works, I also like shape, particularly triangles and circles. I like the secondary colours, hence my Elemental series paintings also use at least one of these, often in various shades. So much in the world can be broken down into circles or triangles in a grouping and so this series is my tribute to this. Original painting: Watercolour on paper, 380 x 280mm
