They can tell you where to find a cheap used Kerplunk or an ancient Saxon roundhouse.. but not what the largest land-based carnivore is. You’ll find them out and about in the surrounding fields of Danebury and beyond putting the world to rights and looking for the history we’ve all forgotten.

We have created these metal detecting designs to represent what Club you are apart of. This represent the oldest coin you have found while metal detecting. If you find a coin from 1099 or older then you would be part of the Legend Club. We have different colors and numbers for 1800's , 1700's, 1600's, 1500's, 1400's, 1300's, 1200's, 1100's, and anyone finding a coin from the year 1000's and earlier you will need to get yourself the Legend Club Member design. Please enjoy and share with other. This could make for a great gift for a friend that has just found a bucket Lister.

Under the jurisdiction of Colchester Museum the Antiquisearchers, have sole permission to detect on any of the decent patches of land in the Danebury area (for now).. Apart from Farmer Bishop's land. But they'll see if they can't make him a more.. attractive proposition.

Best recent addition to the Danebury Metal Detecting Club finds table, this excellent condition DMDC coin in Anglo Saxon style, dating from as far back as 1997 maybe? An excellent find I think, well done.

A recently discovered piece of artwork found within the walls of an old Saxon roundhouse church nearby to the town of Danebury in Essex. It seemingly depicts an ancient form of precious metal gathering and the methods used to acquire them. As we now know these men would have had to give up any of the valuable materials they discovered to the land owner and their associated parties. Leaving the 'Precious Metal Gatherers' to scrape a living from the lesser valuable finds and similarly skilled occupations.
