This picture shows a view of the old Derby Silk Mill on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. This is said to be the first fully-mechanized factory in the world. The original work is in Staedtler watercolour pencils on vif Art textured watercolour paper.

From an original watercolour this show Derwent Water in the UK Lake District as an early evening mist rolls in from the mountains. A beautiful and atmospheric scene, this is where my art career was to begin four months later after a serious shoulder injury but that's another story!!

Derwentwater Trees And Mountains Every visit to Cumbria is not complete without going to Derwentwater and having a stroll around this stunning lake. We went a bit further this time and came across this beach like area with an amazing mountain view in the background. This will make for a talking point in print for whether you opt for a canvas or large metal print either way your friends and family will love this. Derwentwater Tree Roots Derwentwater, or Derwent Water, is one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District National Park in north west England. It lies wholly within the Borough of Allerdale, in the county of Cumbria. The lake occupies part of Borrowdale and lies immediately south of the town of Keswick. The water level was so low here that you can easily trip over these gnarly tree roots spreading out to find water. By Paul Thompson Photography
