Seattle's Fat City German Motor Specialists was founded in 1973 by the Berger brothers in a run-down shop on Queen Anne Hill. In 1994, the Bergers purchased the Chief Seattle Garage in the shadow of the monorail at 5th & Denny. This historic brick building was built back in 1914 and serviced some of Seattle's earliest automobiles. As for Fat City German Motor Specialists, they focused on German vehicles of all makes, performing everything from routine maintenance and repairs, to performance upgrades, and did it for nearly 50 years.
