The Landseer is a Canadian dog closely related to the Newfoundland. It hails from the mountains between France and Spain, specifically the French side where it's also called the Patou. They were bred as livestock guardians protecting goats, cows, and sheep from predation by wolves and bears.

The Cocker Spaniel is actually two different spaniel breeds; the American Cocker Spaniel and the European Cocker Spaniel. The difference comes in their breed standards. Westies are Scottish Terrier dogs with coarse white coats. Their hairlike outer layer of fur has made them popular as a more allergy-friendly breed. They are intelligent, good with kids, and very social. They were bred for rat hunting and have a high prey drive for small animals. Westies have been documented as far back as 1550 and are still a beloved breed in the UK and all over the world.
