On the McWay waterfall track in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park, you get an amazing view of McWay Falls plummeting over the cliffs and onto the beach below. I found it very hard to tear myself away from that view, but I had to so I could move further up the track and watch the sunset over the ocean. What a perfect way to end the day. I'm a bit jealous of Julia Pfeiffer Burns, who used to live in this area and got to see this view whenever she wanted!

McWay Falls was one of those places I knew I had to stop at on my road trip through Big Sur. On a day of stunning scenery, seeing the waterfall in the golden light of late afternoon was an absolute standout.
