The picture was taken in Hagnau, Germany. It shows the west harbor of the village - mainly used by sailing boats. There is also a pedal boat renting facility there. Although Lake Constance is a lake - where you can usually see the opposite shore, in this case Switzerland - there are days that gives you the imagination of standing at the edge of an silent ocean with a endless horizon. The construction of the new palace began in 1710. The palace has been the residence of the Prince-Bishop of Constance. Later it used for different types of schools, and has been also a prison. After World War II French troops used it as barrack. In 2012 the New Palace Meersburg reopened after restoration. The builung is right in the heart of Meersburg, an old town on the north shore of the Lake Constance. In Meersburg there are a lot of interesting things to see, like the old castle, the medieval town, and the state winery. Meersburg has two harbours. Hall of the reopened New Palace Meersburg after restoration of the builung in the heart of Meersburg, an old town on the north shore of the Lake Constance. The hall is the only place inside the palace where you are allowed to take photos. Just overlooking a camp site near Hagnau, Germany early in the morning - actually on the way to work. Hagnau is famous for its grape orchards. They are everywhere. View from the “Hegaublick”. The landscape is dominated by volcanic hills which were active more than 10 million years ago. On top of Hohentwiel there is Germay’s largest ruined fortress. This is the South-Western Sight of Hohentwiel Fortress Ruins in Singen, Germany in the evening sun. It is the largest fortress ruins in Germany with almost nine hectares. From the Hohentwiel you have a fabulous view across the Lake Constance to Switzerland with its rolling hills of the Thurgau region and the Alps behind. Every year in July there is a huge festivity within the ruins for almost one week. Lots of bands are playing different kind of music and also concerts are taking place.
