We're back from our break in Somerset West, South Africa. This was my little Levi's first time ever at the beach and he LOVED it, despite it being quite cold and very windy (it's winter here.) The reason I've been so absent from the bubble lately, and have ignored all the lovely Christmas greetings and bubblemails (so sorry about that!!) This is Levi, 11 days old and perfectly wonderful. He was born a little prem (at 35 weeks) and is doing very well after his 10 day NICU stay. The rest of the family are head over heels in love, as am I. : )

Just like every other baby we've ever known, Levi loves Johnny. (We are not sure what he does to deserve it, but ALL babies love Johnny. Maybe it's just 'cos he's SO good looking.) Levi has just learnt to blow kisses, here, I caught him in the act. Hence the cute funny face. : ) My sons, John (14) and Levi (10 months) photographed with my Canon EOS 600D in natural light.

This is little Levi, 18 months old tomorrow. This is my 23rd work in my 52 week challenge (did last weeks late and this week I'm a little early, but it still counts, right?) I've had this idea for a while and have been longing to try it, but it didn't turn out nearly how I hoped it would. But I thought I would post it anyway, all that work! I might try and re-do it someday. But not today. : ) Two of my own original photographs, manipulated in Photoshop.

This is one of those pictures that would probably be better off left in the bottom drawer of my hard drive ... not very well composed, out of focus, oddly cropped. But I really felt like sharing it with you anyway. This is why I do what I do. This is the reward for days and weeks and months and years of sleepless nights and sticky fingers and endless laundry and changing nappies. This is why we do it, why a mother gets up every single day and just keeps going. This is one of those countless moments that more than make up for the fatigue, the worry, the very hard work that is being a parent. More than worth it. : ) Levi, 14 months, running to give me (and my camera) a hug.
