Krayt dragons were large, carnivorous reptiles that hailed from Tatooine, a desert planet in the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. They came in two species and, despite their fierceness, were hunted for their tender meat and precious pearls found in their bodies. The preferred Tatooine preparation of krayt dragon meat appears to be roasting it rotisserie style. There’s just one big problem with the way The Mandalorian handles things: the droid manipulating the big hunk of meat is just lazily rotating it in front of one makeshift burner made out of an engine, creating a wildly uneven cooking surface.

The large 1940s era Loback Meat Co. sign that spans the aisle of the main arcade in Seattle's Pike Place Market is well known by locals and tourists alike as you simply can't ignore its beautiful vintage neon glow as you make your way through the market. While the sign is still there decades later, the butcher shop itself, however, did not persevere. Opened in 1946, Loback’s was one of several butcher shops at the Market, selling specialties such as homemade sausages, goose, and luau pigs in addition to the more standard fare of steaks and hams. After a 40 year run, they closed their doors in 1986, and two separate attempts to revive it failed, closing for good in 1989. Nowadays, the historic space is filled by a jelly and chocolate shop.

Sam Wilson made a name for himself during the War of 1812 when he was chosen as the provider of meats to the Army of the United States. His meats became famous far and wide, so much so that his nickname, Uncle Sam, became identified with the government in the minds of the soldiers who enjoyed his fine meats while serving. It only made sense that when a Kansas restaurateur needed a name for his new meat centric establishment, that he would call it Sam Wilson's Meat Market. If the name wasn't a giveaway, Sam's did focus heavily on meat, with the KC Strip, teriyaki steak kabobs, barbecued ribs, chopped steak and the jumbo hamburger all favorite items.

Freezers appeared during the 1940s, then known as a 'deep freeze,' but did not go into mass production until after the WWII. People were interested in the economy of freezing foods, but freezers were still considered out of reach of most people at the time. As a result, businesses offering freezer lockers became popular. Acting like a safe deposit box, people could store their food in a locked bin in a walk-in freezer, retrieving items as needed. Once such business was Dyer Frozen Food Lockers in Dyer, Tennessee, which opened up in the '40s. Frozen food lockers began falling out of favor in the '50s as refrigerator/freezer combos became more common, though many rural frozen food lockers continued operating well into the '60s.

Golub Corporation (doing business as Price Chopper Supermarkets) is a chain of supermarkets headquartered in Schenectady, New York. The chain opened its first supermarkets in New York's Capital District in 1932, and changed its name from Central Market to Price Chopper in 1973.

Tugs Belltown Tavern is considered by many to be the best Seattle gay bar of all time. The legendary Tugs opened their doors in October 1976 at 2207 1st Ave. and quickly showed the city what a gay bar could be. The tavern hosted a wide variety of musical style theme nights, making the transition from jukebox-only to live DJs in '78. They had a downstairs DJ booth where patrons could walk up to the window and look at the record being played. Customers would dance until dawn, often spilling into the streets or up on the roof in the small hours. Tugs also hosted live shows, movie nights, and tons of other regular events (every Saturday was Spaghetti Night!) which were all detailed in a monthly calendar that was designed and printed by hand.
