Docklands Stadium or now known as Etihad Stadium was built in 1996 as a centrepiece to kick-start developer interest in Docklands as a viable renewal area. Docklands occupies an area adjacent to the Melbourne central business district (CBD), consisting of land and water totalling 200 hectares. It is bounded by Wurundjeri Way and the Charles Grimes Bridge to the east, CityLink to the west and Lorimer Street across the Yarra to the south and is a primarily waterfront area centred on the banks of the Yarra River.

A cool, crisp Winter's night was the perfect time to capture Melbourne's iconic Docklands. The waters of the Yarra River were perfectly still and created a flawless mirror.

The amazing Webb Bridge in the Docklands of Melbourne reflected in the still mirror like waters of the Yarra River.

The Webb Bridge, Melbourne Docklands, Victoria, Australia. Is the result of a competition-winning design for a new pedestrian/cycle bridge over the Yarra river, as part of a public art project, in Melbourne's Docklands area. The brief called for the re-use of the remaining sections of the Webb Dock Rail Bridge, in order to link the Docklands on the north-side to the new residential developments on the south-side. The bridge comprises two distinct sections: the 145m long existing structure and a new curved 80m long ramped link. The ramp takes up level changes and creates a point of arrival at the south bank. My first attempt to paint using Plein Air techniques from a photograph taken at Docklands. Not ideal, better to actually paint on site, but not always possible. *Featured* in 'Women Painters', ★ART UNIVERSE★ and 'PAINTERS ACADEMICS', and voted into the *top ten* of the Women Painters challenge Artist of the Month, and 'Woman Painter of the year 2017'. It was voted winner of the Constance Wu award, in the Melbourne Society of Women Painters annual exhibition.
