Miami Stadium played host to a number of different teams throughout the years — including decades as the spring home of the Baltimore Orioles. It was also home to different minor league teams including the Miami Marlins, Orioles and Amigos.

The first of three Blockbuster Bowls were played between the Florida State University Seminoles and Penn State Nittany Lions in a matchup of Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno at Joe Robbie Stadium in Miami on Dec. 28, 1990. After the third game, Blockbuster Video dropped its sponsorship with CarQuest Auto Parts taking over. The bowl ended up in Orlando where it is now the Pop Tarts Bowl.

Home of the Heat!

The Miami Marlins were a minor league baseball team that played at Miami Stadium from 1956 in the AAA International League until 1960; they came back as part of the Florida State League in 1962 and, for the most part, remained in the FSL until 1989 when they became the Miracle and moved out of Miami Stadium. The Marlins were affiliated with a number of teams, most notably the Baltimore Orioles.
