Pelagic Cormorant

Being a diver and knowing just how tricky it can be to create natural images of pelagic wildlife can be - inspired me to create this art piece from within the Singapore Aquarium. It's not often that you see underwater such vast diversity of species within such a limited water column and to see extremely large grouper along with passing manta is an anomaly underwater... There was something that I liked in it, in particular the composure and perspective looking through the aquarium and the mirroring of both the large pelagic species as pattern. For this reason I chose to work further on the piece afterwards on computer and kept the colour balance ocean blue.
