Pastel on recycled smooth watercolour paper primed with black gesso & crushed pumice - 24 x 32cm Another lovely morning for a paint out with the Hastings Valley Fine Art group at Rocks Ferry - Wauchope, on the Hastings River. Pastel on black primed matboard - 26 x 36cm Featured in - Realist Landscape, Seascape, Streetscape group - 22/10/14 The surface of the matboard offcut was primed with a mixture of black gesso & some pumice stone that I found on the beach - ground & sifted to be quite fine. It has still made a very rough texture surface to paint on.! We had a lovely paint out at a friend's 100 acre property & this veiw was looking up one of the tracks along the ridge near her house. Blocked in with some hard pastels first (because of the rough texture of the board), then dappled with some softer pastels. I will either refine this painting a bit more, or use it as a reference for a studio painting.
