I sat and doodled last night once the kids were all in bed, and this is what came out. Hand drawn with pencil and coloured in Photoshop.

One of the best pieces of parenting advice I ever got was to smile at my children. There is nothing like a smiling mama to change the mood of the whole household. Try it, it's amazing. But the other day I was thinking that sometimes I need a visible reminder... I get so caught up in the daily chores and cares and forget to smile. I considered writing it on their foreheads with permanent marker, but I thought maybe tees would be more fun. : ) Gonna have to order 10 of these. (And maybe a sticker for my bathroom mirror so I remember to smile at myself, too.)

This little boy of mine is a delight in so many ways. Sometimes at night he will pad down the passageway to our room, climb into our bed and snuggle in between us. He will wrap his little arms around my neck and whisper in my ear, "I love you SO much, Mommy!" before he falls back to sleep. He constantly reminds me what a privilege it is to be a mother. I am counting this as my 45th work in my 52 week photography challenge, at which I have failed miserably. I have become so distracted with life and family and other art forms that I have left myself no time or energy for photography. I know, I know, excuses, excuses!! Well, one way or the other I will put 52 works into that collection!!
