Smithfield Street Bridge T-Shirts

Before walking across the Monongahela River on the Smithfield Bridge, we saw this freight train going under the bridge.

If you want to avoid downtown Pittsburgh traffic, you can park across the Monongahela River and walk across the Smithfield Street Bridge.

The Smithfield Street Bridge across the Monongahela River connects the downtown Pittsburgh area with the South Side of Pittsburgh.

The Smithfield Street Bridge was originally built in 1881-1883 and was designated a National Historic Civic Engineering Landmark in 1976.
