After a couple of weeks of rain this waterfall was flowing well. Just my third trip to Somersby Falls & the first time to the upper reaches of the top falls. There are wooden steps that lead to the main waterfall but to get to this spot the track is less defined with the occasional stone steps. Photographed with Canon 400D, ISO 100, F22, 2 seconds, RAW Mode. To get to this place you have to bend way down as you pass through the low rock ceiling behind the falls. Both times I needed to plant a hand in the mud to stop myself falling & picked up some mud that was almost as orange as my shirt & more orange than my hair ! I love the contrast of dark rock & artistically splashing white water. There is a track leading to the main falls but getting to this one requires a bit of rock hopping & slow & steady stepping over slippery sections.
