The Tamar Bridge is a major road bridge at Saltash in southwest England carrying traffic between Cornwall and Devon over the River Tamar. When it opened in 1961 it was the longest suspension bridge in the United Kingdom.The Royal Albert Bridge is a railway bridge which spans the River Tamar in England between Plymouth,Devon and Saltash, Cornwall bank. Its unique design consists of two 455 feet (138.7 m) lenticular iron trusses 100 feet (30.5 m) above the water.

Cotehele is a mediaeval/Tudor house located in the parish of Calstock, Cornwall, England, UK. The grounds stretch down to a quay on the River Tamar where there is an outpost of the National Maritime Museum.

Part of the bridge which carries the Great Western Railway over the River Tamar between Devon and Cornwall.

The Cremyll Ferry crosses the River Tamar between Admirals Hard in the Stonehouse district of Plymouth (Devon, England) and the village of Cremyll on the Rame Peninsula in Cornwall. There has been a ferry here for over 1000 years. The Edgcumbe Belle (built in 1957) does not normally work this route. Until recently, the regular boat was the Northern Belle, but she was withdrawn from service in December 2013 following an incident with a Royal Navy landing craft. Date: 13th April 2014. Ore Truck, Morwellham Quay Number of views as of 13th May 2019 = 275. This truck would have been used in the 19th century to transport ore from the Tamar Valley copper mines to ships waiting at Morwellham Quay (Devon, England). The ships would transport the ore down the River Tamar, around Lands End and up to South Wales, which had a plentiful supply of the other essential ingredient required for copper production, i.e. coke to fire the smelting furnaces. Morwellham was established in the 10th century by Benedectine monks from Tavistock Abbey to carry goods to and from Plymouth. Later, tin, lead and silver ore were transported from the Quay. However its heyday did not come until the 1840s when rich copper deposits were discovered at the ...

Calstock Viaduct, August 2019 Ten miles north of Plymouth, 6 miles south-west of Tavistock, on the Cornwall side of the Tamar River, lies the village of Calstock (Cornwall, England). The village was once an important mining centre. Boats would load up at Calstock and carry their cargoes down the River Tamar. However, the importance of the river as a trading route declined with the building of the Tamar Valley Railway line, whose majestic 120 feet high, 12 arch viaduct (completed in 1907) dominates the village even today. The mining industry eventually declined when the mines were no longer cost-effective to run, and many miners were forced to find work elsewhere. The Show of Hands song "Cousin Jack" captures the situation perfectly. Date...
