This is a sketch I did years ago, in my BRB years (Before Red Bubble) of "Tane"infinitane at three years old. I drew it with coloured pencil crayons and really enjoyed doing it. But then, because I didn't know what else to do with it, I just left it lying around tucked into a folder somewhere for years. (Tane is 9 years old now.)

Oil on canvas My December was spent far away from my computer which meant no photography, no t-shirt designing, no digital artwork, no redbubble!! I thought I would be lost with no creative outlet, but my husband suggested I paint. So I did. This is a painting of my daughter, Tane. It has been 4 years since I last painted in oils, I feel very rusty. : ) Next time I'm far away from my computer, I'm gonna try again.

Armed with a sketchbook and pens, I recently challenged myself to complete the 3000km Tour Aotearoa, sketching all 30 of the official photo checkpoints. I drew in rain, wind and bbq-hot temperatures, always aware that I had to keep riding on before it got dark! I'm super happy with the results and hope you enjoy them too. Will probably take this down at some stage but I wanted to encourage my daughter, Tane, who was feeling very down about her art today (her 13 year old sister is very talented!) She told me, she doesn't see the point, her work is no good and it'll never be good enough for redbubble!! (Wonder where she gets that ambition from??) Most of my children mess around with photoshop on a daily basis, I'm sure one day they'll all be very good at it!
