Here you can see the Acropolis of Athens, photo taken from Filopappos hill. On top of the rock you can see from left to right, the Propylaea, the Erechtheum and, of course, the Parthenon. On the lower left corner you can see the Odeon of Herodes (Herod) Atticus and on the upper right side, Lycabettus Hill, one more of the "trademarks" of Athens.

The Erechtheionn within the Acropolis complex in Athens is really something to see. It's been decades since you could approach this structure, but no such problem when I was there in 1972; I have a separate picture of me sitting on the stones beneath caryatids, Of course, this is a much more recent image, but today's regimen does mean that there are no pesky tourists in the way when you want to capture a picture of this ancient piece of Greek architecture. We had climbed up to the Acropolis early to get ahead of the crowds, a privilege we enjoyed for just a short while. By the time we left, a heaving mass of humanity had found its way into every corner of this magnificent place. So, what about the image? Well, it's all about the architec...

This is an image of the 'North Porch' of the Erechtheion within the Acropolis complex in Athens. It is amazing that something built almost 2500 years ago should still be standing yet alone still have its roof.

Better know as "Στύλοι του Ολυμπίου Διός" ("Stili tou Olympiou Dios") is one of the major atractions of the city of Athens. It was propably the largest temple of the ancient world. Located close to the Acropolis, which you can see in the background.
