Alan Armstrong was an expert pilot, a wealthy playboy, and the confidant of his fiancé Eve's father, Admiral Corby. The Admiral suspected that spies had infiltrated America and needed help, so Armstrong put on a costume and became the Spy Smasher. When WWII ended, he changed his name to Crime Smasher and shifted his focus towards fighting crime. Eve sometimes helps him since she knows his secret identity.

It wasn't uncommon for superheroes to be used as propaganda during World War II and while adults were targeted through posters and shorts shown before movies, American children were targeted through comic books. These superheroes embodied the ideal virtues of American soldiers and demonstrated the courage and resolve needed to fight evil during World War II, things that went hand-in-hand with comic book storytelling. Americans had little interest in another war in Europe and what was initially an isolationist stance, eventually morphed into patriotic rallying cries as America was drawn into the war, and the comics went right along with them as superheroes jumped into the fray, battling the axis of evil.

In October 1940, Maj. David Schlatter, of the U.S. Army Air Corps, surveyed several areas in Utah, Arizona and Nevada looking for a site to locate the first flexible aerial gunnery school. He was particularly interested in Nevada since about 90 percent of the area north, northwest and northeast of Las Vegas was desert wasteland. On Jan. 25, 1941, Las Vegas Mayor John L. Russell signed over the property to the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps for the development of the flexible gunnery school. The mission of the new school, the Las Vegas Army Air Corps Gunnery School (located on the new Las Vegas Army Air Field), was defined as "training of aerial gunners to the degree of proficiency that will qualify them for combat duty."

P-51s were used by the USAAF's Eighth Air Force to escort bombers in raids over Germany, by Allied air forces in the North African, Mediterranean, and Italian theaters, and against the Japanese in the Pacific War. Mustang pilots claimed 4,950 enemy aircraft shot down.

The Americans will fight to the last Australian ". The print depicts FDR as the " Spectre " or grim reaper like figure and having driven a flag pole through the body of an Australian soldier.

The reverse of the leaflet had instructions for the Filipinos to stay away from all Japanese held positions and to move as far inland as possible. The design is available in white or deep blue. The Army Air Corps were looking for a perfect location for a training base since the ’30s and ultimately found it in Las Vegas, Nevada. The initial base was nothing but a dirt runaway, but after a complete buildup, the base was officially opened in 1941 when the first unit – the 79th Air Base Group – arrived there. The base population doubled within a month, representing a fulminating start. By the time of the attacks over Pearl Harbor, the base hosted not more than 27 planes. Almost 1000 troops – both co-pilots and gunnery experts – graduated from the base at every 5 weeks.
