A100 Tank Tops

In 1958, Ray Frank, owner of a small trailer manufacturing company in Brown City, Michigan, designed and built a small custom 'house car' to take his family on vacation. His creation would be so well received, that he would not only coin the term motor home, but define the Class A RV. Frank would eventually have more orders than he could fulfill and sold his business to Travco who would continue to produce his designs for years to come. Travco would expand their offerings, including creating a line of Class C RV's based on the versatile A100 van platform. Dubbing these rigs 'Family Wagon,' they were offered in numerous configurations and with a choice of either the permanent Vista Top, or the Expandable Top.

The A100 is a range of compact vans and cab over trucks were made from 1964 to 1970 in the United States and Canada. These vans are without question a vanner favorite and this retro gasser inspired design shows the 'Kalifornia Wagon' A100 with a 426 Hemi mounted midship gettin' some on the way to the beach to catch some tasty waves.

Unlike most van shops of the day that focused on selling and installing custom parts and accessories, The Van Doctor was a comprehensive auto body and mechanical repair shop. Sure, they also sold the goodies to make your ride stand out, but that was secondary to this Van Nuys garage.

This is the Casio A100, which is a modern rerelease of the Casio F100 used in the Alien movie. The crew watch had two watch faces, both being F100's with an orange outer bezel to house them.
