The Percival Mew Gull was a British racing aircraft of the 1930s and considered by some to be "the Holy Grail of British air racing". Although not fighting aircraft the development of air racers helped make planes faster and more maneuverable and influenced the development of military aviation as well as taught pilots skills they would need in times of conflict.

The Macchi MC-72 was the ultimate seaplane speed king. Though built for the lats Schneider Trophy race development and reliability prevented it from doing so but later it twice broke the all time seaplane speed record which still stands after which in 1933 it never flew again and is now displayed in a museum in Italy. Like the Supermarine racers it did inspire future fighter designs in WW2.

The Corvair is a compact car manufactured by Chevy for model years 1960 through 1969 in two generations. It remains the only American-designed, mass-produced passenger car with a rear-mounted, air-cooled engine. The Corvair was manufactured and marketed in 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, convertible, 4-door station wagon, passenger van, commercial van, and pickup truck body styles in its first generation (1960–1964) and as a 2-door coupe, convertible or 4-door hardtop in its second (1965–1969) — with a total production of approximately 1.8 million from 1960-1969. The name "Corvair" originated as a portmanteau of Corvette and Bel Air, a name first applied in 1954 to a Corvette-based concept with a hardtop fastback-styled roof.
