Brean Tank Tops

Brean Sands Number of views as of 8th March 2018 = 575. Brean Sands is a 7 mile stretch of beach between Brean Down (south of Weston-Super-Mare) and Burnham-on-Sea, in the county of Somerset, England. The sands are popular with holiday makers and the village of Brean (pronounced Bree-an by the locals) has a population of just over 2,000 people, but this swells to 20 times that in peak periods as visitors arrive with their tents and caravans. Cars are allowed to park on the beach, but bathers must beware as the sand gives way to the soft mud of the Bristol Channel at low tide. Date: 23rd May 2015. Brean Down Fort Number of views as of 11th September 2017 = 320. Constructed in the 1860s, Brean Down Fort (Somerset, England) is one of the 'Palmerston Forts', a series of fortifications built across the Bristol Channel to protect the approaches to Bristol and Cardiff. Although staffed by 50 officers and men of the Royal Artillery, the fort never saw active service. The fort was decommissioned in 1900 following an explosion in a gunpowder store, when a certain Gunner Haines fired a cartridge down a ventilation shaft in an apparent suicide attempt. Brean Down, Steep Holm & Flat Holm Number of views as of 18th January 2018 = 440. Brean Down, between Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea (Somerset, England) is a great place for 360 degree views of the Bristol Channel, the Somerset Levels, the Mendip and Quantock Hills and South Wales. This shot includes the islands of Steep Holm (left) and Flat Holm, with the South Wales coast on the horizon. The trees that survive life on Brean Down have to be hardy, and some grow almost horizontally, bowed by the prevailing westerly winds. This image was taken from Weston-super-Mare looking towards Brean Down, Somerset, a promontory that sticks out into the Bristol channel between Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea. This monochrome image has a drawing effect added.

Brean Down is a unique headland, it has mountain goats which are specific to the area and is a great nature walk.
