What do crazy photographers do on a full cloudy windy day with frigid sub-zero temperatures? Of course they go out and take pictures! This image was taken at the Hamilton Harbour in Ontario on such a crazy day. Not even a heavy sturdy tripod could produce a sharp image (even at high ISO). It was so windy you could feel the rocks on the edge of the water shaking (yep - that's where I was standing). Just to give the viewer a sense of how strong the winds were, the water level on a calm day is typically about 10 feet below the surface of the pier. Blue Mesa Reservoir, located in the Curecanti National Recreation Area, is Colorado's largest body of water. The reservoir is located in Western Colorado between Montrose and Gunnison at an elevation of 7,519'. Formed by damming the Gunnison River, Blue Mesa Lake is one of the three reservoirs formed from the Gunnison River. Also located in Curecanti National Recreation Area, the other two reservoirs are Crystal Reservoir and Marrow Point Reservoir. The area is filled with beautiful mesas, deep narrow canyons, and fjord like lakes. Covering 41,972 acres, the park brings over 960,000 visitors each year. Pulteney Bridge in Bath, illuminated at twilight and reflecting in the River Avon. Pulteney Bridge, together with the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, is one of the world's most beautiful bridges and surely the most romantic. Like the Ponte Vecchio it is one of a handful of historic bridges in the world with shops built into it. It was built for William Pulteney by Robert Adam in an attempt to connect central Bath to land on the other bank of the River Avon.

Murrumbidgee River floodplain in Gundagai, Australia. In the background is the one of the longest timber girder road viaducts in Australia (constructed in 1867 then reconstructed in 1898 and now in utter disrepair) and just visible behind it the longest timber howe truss railway viaduct in Australia (constructed in 1903 and now also on the verge of collapse). Both viaducts lead to bridges over the main river channel. All these works were constructed by day labour and supervised by the engineers of the NSW Department of Public Works and are listed on the Engineers Australia Heritage Register. Brooklyn Bridge, New York City, USA The Brooklyn Bridge is a hybrid cable-stayed/suspension bridge in New York City, spanning the East River between the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Opened on May 24, 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was the first fixed crossing of the East River

This picturesque footbridge crosses an arm of the Thames as it passes by the village of Little Wittenham in Oxfordshire. This is found just below Days Lock and here it is seen from the Thames Path National Trail. Until quite recently this bridge was the scene of the annual Pooh Sticks Championships - competitors dropping their sticks from the upstream side and watching them race under the bridge with the current. The bridge leads to the village church and the Wittenham Clumps - two tree crowned hills and prehistoric settlement -an Oxforshire landmark.

The footpath crossing the River Kennet at Hissey Bridge near Burghfield, Berkshire, England. Here the towpath crosses the river to the south bank to continue westwards towards Theale. The bridge itself rises over the river as a wooden arch topped with a railing. The Kennet forms part of the 87 mile long Kennet and Avon Canal, constructed between 1794 and 1810 to enable goods - especially Bath Stone - to be carried by boat between Bristol and London via Reading.
