Carmine Bee-eater, Botswana

A collection of African bee-eaters - Carmine, Böhms, Swallow-tailed, White-fronted and Little bee-eaters. All are taken from my own reference photos (therefore I have seen them all). I wanted to create a simple design (as with all of my Graphic Nature series) to highlight the different colours on show in Africa. An adorable little bee-eater.

Thousands of these brilliant birds fly through Namibia and Botswana en route to South Africa where they spend the summer. They later return to Equatorial Africa for the Winter. Sony a77 Tamron 150-600mm @ 600mm 1/100sec @ f/8 ISO-400
