This picture captures the amazing whitewashed buildings in the foreground, then the rolling hills of the countryside out behind the town, leading down to the lakes that this poster was made to market. In the background, behing the beautiful deep blue water of the lake are the Italian mountains under a grey blue sky.

This image was taken from Torri del Benaco on the eastern side of Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) in Northern Italy on a beautifully fine September morning just as the heat of the day was building.

Lake Iseo is one of the smaller lakes in Northern Italy, but it does hold the largest island in a lake in Europe. This image was shot from Iseo Town, looking over mooring posts at the marina on an overcast day in May.

Corso Dante Alighieri in Torri del Benaco on Lake Garda on a lovely sunny September morning just right for a slow walk along the cobbled streets before the usual influx of visitors arrive. This pretty little village is not one of the better known destinations on the lake, but is very picturesque and a beautiful place to visit.

This image was taken on a beautiful, warm sunny morning from Sirmione on Lake Garda looking over a reed bed towards the far shore which had taken on a wonderful blue colour over the distant mountains.

This beautiful little fairytale island is called Isola di Loreto and is situated in Lake Iseo in Northern Italy. A neo gothic castle was built in the early 1900s but previously there had been a monastery dating back to the 15th century

This image was taken on a sunny overcast day with threatening clouds over the tops of the hills and illustrates a typical laid back Italian lake village. This image has been given a panorama crop for something just that little bit different.

Apponale Tower, Riva del Garda Number of views as of 13th March 2018 = 310. One from the archives... A shot of the Apponale Tower in the water-side town of Riva on the shores of Lake Garda, Italy. The tower was originally built in 1220 and raised to its current height of 34 metres in 1555. The tower has been put to various uses since it was built including warehouse, prison and look-out post.
