The design shows intestinal bacteria as you can see them (maybe not quite as colorful) under the microscope. Our body is a habitat for a large number of bacteria and other microorganisms. In particular, those roommates who settle in our intestines play a key role in our well-being. Bacteria make up the bulk of the human microbiome. Archaea, fungi and viruses are also part of the microbiome. The gut microbiome is often referred to as the "forgotten organ" because it takes on important functions in the body. The intestinal microbes process nutrients, protect against pathogens, influence the immune system and can influence the body in many ways via connections to the brain. © Claudia Böttcher | www.colorofmagic.design

Tests have revealed the average handset carries 18 times more potentially harmful germs than a flush handle in a men's toilet. With frequent use phones remain warm, creating the ideal breeding ground for bacteria. With touch-screen phones, the same part of the phone touched with fingertips is pressed up against the face and mouth, increasing chances of infection. In tests E. coli, Haemophilus influenzae and MRSA were amongst infectious bacteria found on handsets. Common harmless bacteria include Staphylococcus epidermidis, Micrococcus, Streptococcus viridans, Moraxella, and bacillus species. Magnification: x3000 when printed at 10cm wide.

Euglena, a freshwater eukaryotic single cellular organism. In my artwork, you can see the organelles, as I have made them visible, though most you would not see like this under a microscope. This is a more complex artwork of the innards of Euglena, than you most might see on the world wide web.
