LM & P Motor Parts was an auto parts supplier serving the great Los Angeles area for decades. This design comes from a thrifted tee that carried a date of 1974 which had seen better days, so it was redrawn and made new again before being elegantly destroyed by hand.

In 1974, then-publisher of Street Rodder and Street Chopper magazines, Tom McMullen, saw a growing trend in custom vans and pickups cruising Southern California and making the scene at hot rod shows. Using the popular saying "Keep on Truckin'" as a basis, Truckin’ magazine was created. In 1975, the first issue went on sale at newsstands for $1.00 under the TRM Publications (which stood for Tom and Rose McMullen) family of auto magazines. From 1975 to May 1995, Truckin’ was published by TRM before being sold off to a larger media group after Tom and his wife died when their Rockwell Commander 112 crashed into a field in Oklahoma. The title changed hands a few more times over the years before going digital and finally ceasing in 2019.

The 720 pickup was Datsun's first foray into the 4-wheel drive mini-truck market in both long bed and extra-cab variants. It was introduced as a 1980 model and continued until 1986 when the Hardbody style (model D-21) was introduced as a 1986.5 model. Prior models of Datsun mini-trucks were the 521 and 620 which did not offer a 4-wheel drive option. The 720 featured an independent front suspension with torsion bar springs, a leaf spring live axle rear suspension, and a 4 cylinder engine displacing 2.0 liters at introduction, later enlarged to 2.4 liters. The manual transmission on the 720 drove a divorced transfer case that required extra clearance over a married setup. This resulted in the 720 4x4 models having a lifted look.

T&H Van Works Unlimited got their start in the early '70s, riding the wave of custom van fever and offering a huge selection of custom parts from porthole windows and sunroofs to side pipes and flare kits. From their Los Angeles, California showroom, they also operated a thriving mail order business, with ads in all the major vanner magazines instructing people to write them for a free catalog. In the early '80s, custom vans had died down considerably, and T&H expanded their offerings to support the booming mini truck craze, but by some time in the '90s as mini trucks began falling out of favor, T&H called it quits.

The LUV Truck and the later LUV DMax are light pickup trucks designed and manufactured by Izusu and sold and marketed in the Americas since 1972 by Chebby. LUV is an acronym for "light utility vehicle" and the LUV was produced over four generations as rebadged variants of the Izusu Faster and DMax trucks.
