Priory Bay Tank Tops

It was one of those perfectly clear calm days in January when I took the ferry over to Ryde and walked the coast of the Isle Of Wight (UK) round to this spot on Priory Bay. The low winter sun skimmed across the trees, bringing just enough warmth and shelter by the far rocks for a brief lunch stop before I needed to return to Ryde. This oil painting is on board, measuring 16 inches wide by 12 inches high. Look close and you may spot Portsmouth and the Spinnaker tower on the horizon.

Tynemouth Priory

Cullercoats Bay on the North East coast of England on a cold December morning just before sunrise. The golden sky was reflected in the North Sea and the silhouettes of Tynemouth Pier and the Priory can be seen on the horizon with photographers on the pier, dog walkers on the beach and a hardy group of swimmers in the water. brrr!

King Edwards Bay, Tynemouth is a Blue Flag beach in a small sandy bay sheltered by cliffs and grassy banks which makes it excellent for family outings as well as fishing and water sport. The sandy bay at Cullercoats in the North East of England is enclosed by two small piers and was once a thriving fishing village in the early 1800s and is now home to the Dove Marine Laboratory and an RNLI Lifeboat station.
