After the international success of Dario Argento's film Suspiria (1977), "Profondo Rosso" was released in Japan under the title "Suspiria 2", even though it has no plot connections to "Suspiria" and was made two years prior to it.

Print #2 in my series on gialli films comes from what many consider to be the best example of the genre, Dario Argento's "Deep Red" (1975) aka "Profondo Rosso" aka "The Hatchet Murders."

The Dario Argento's Deep Red design is inspired by the cult classic giallo horror movie written and directed by the king of giallo Dario Argento Released in 1975, Deep Red stars David Hemmings as a musician who investigates a series of murders performed by a mysterious figure wearing black leather gloves. A critical and commercial success when released, to this day Deep Red is considered to be one of the best Dario Argento films.
