Black Country New Road is one of the most interesting new rock bands from the UK. Along with Black Midi, Squid, Shame, Idles or Girl Band, Black Country is one of the most interesting rising hype bands that mixes rock, punk, post-hardcore and jazz with influences of Scott Walker, Slint, Arcade Fire, Neutral Milk Hotel or Godspeed You Black Emperor among many others. Their second album, Ants from Up there marked a departure from the obscure noise-rock and post-punk of their debut towards a more folksy and beautiful post-rock with spaces for a lot of silences and slow building climaxes.
