I sampled the famous scene from Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling mural where God is creating Adam, and inserted a beer into God’s hand. I call this painting God’s Gift. San Miguel Mission, also known as San Miguel Chapel, is a Spanish colonial mission church in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Built between approximately 1610 and 1626, it is claimed to be the oldest church in the United States.

The Santuario de Guadalupe (The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe) in Santa Fe, established in the 1770's, is the oldest standing shrine in the United States. It was built in honor of our Lady of Guadalupe and is an enduring landmark, commemorating the apparitions of Mary in 1531 to the Aztec peasant Juan Diego of Tepeyac, Mexico.

Minimal Creation of Adam

Creation of Adam. This fresco artwork (pigment applied to wet plaster) was painted onto the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City, Rome, Italy, sometime between 1508 and 1512. It depicts the moment that God (right) gives the newly created Adam (left) his human soul via their touching fingertips. The artist was Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564), a Renaissance sculptor, architect, painter and poet.
