For lovers of roller skates, roller skating, derby and roller disco. Retro 1970s vibe.

The first Skate King opened in Bellevue, Washington the day after Thanksgiving in 1974. Skate King Burien opened in 1975 followed by Tacoma in 1976 and Kirkland in 1977. In 1979, Skate King Kent opened and then in in 1980 they opened two centers in eastern Washington - Kennewick and Spokane. Over the years roller skating died off and as such, Skate King began closing locations over the years and before you knew it, the original Bellevue location was the last one standing until it too met it's end in 2015.

The Hub Roller Rink opened October 1950 at 4510 North Harlem Avenue in Chicago in an area that was really quite desolate. The HUB was a supersized roller skating rink for its time and housed a Giant Wurlitzer Pipe Organ, originally played by Leon Berry. The skating area was about 275 feet long and some 95 feet wide. The floor was much larger if you include the area outside of the rink railings that allowed skaters access to the rink floor. The rink was open every night and had matinees on Saturday and Sunday. Weekends always found huge crowds, some who never even put on a pair of skates.

Roller Games was a sports entertainment spectacle created in the early 1960s in Los Angeles, California as a rival to the national Roller Derby league. Roller Games provided a mostly televised, increasingly theatrical version of the sport, and its flagship team, the Los Angeles Thunderbirds (T-Birds) endured several boom and bust cycles, including a roller derby attendance record in 1972, a major reorganization in 1975, cable sports coverage in 1986, a TV series called RollerGames in 1989–1990 (and a corresponding video game), and a small number of untelevised exhibition matches from the '80s and into the 2000s. The 'Go T-Birds' fan shirt is from the team's 1978 rebranding that saw them go from red, white, and blue, to green and gold.

Rollin’ Rooms Van and Custom of San Bernardino was a preeminent custom van builder that was on the front end of the custom street van craze of the '70s. From mild to wild, Rollin’ Rooms turned out some of the era’s most amazing vans, while also applying their trade to a few custom cars and motorcycles. This design celebrates a time when tricked out vans ruled the streets and includes a tricked out van and vanner girl on roller skates along with bitchin’ retro typography and simulated metal flake paintwork.
