363rd Fighter Squadron P51 Mustang Tapestries

The 363d Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group was first organized as the 363d Fighter Group, which was activated on 1 August 1943 at Hamilton Field, California. Its original fighter squadrons (380th, 381st and 382d) trained with Bell P-39 Airacobras at Hamilton and other airfields in California and served as part of the air defense force.

The Tuskegee Airmen were African-American Pilots & Ground Crew who served with distinction in the 332nd Fighter Group & 477th BG in WWII. Also known as the Red Tails, they flew the P-39 Airacobra, P-40 Warhawk, P-47 Thunderbolt & notably the P-51 Mustang.
