African Flora Tapestries

South African flora; Wood Irises / Night Lilies and 'Vygies.' I have always admired these little flowers here in SA, you could say they are Africa's equivalent of daisies!

These African daisies (Lemon Symphony) bloom continuously from Spring until Fall.

While walking the New Orleans Riverwalk, I noticed a garden bed with these Agapanthus flowers in the budding stage. They were far enough apart that I could isolate just one. I've blackened the green background and created a multi-depth purple vignette/frame to where it appears the flower is moving out of the frame. Taken at the Huntington Gardens in San Marino, California with my Samsung Galaxy S9 cell phone and processed with Snapseed for tones. Sometimes I forget how capable the cameras and photo processing capabilities are in this little device right in my pocket.

This pattern took me ages, long enough to make me wonder what I was thinking even starting on such an ambitious (for me) project. But my garden is full of proteas, and they are so lovely, I find their shapes and colors endlessly inspiring, so it had to be done. I couldn't ignore them anymore. : )
